Noise Tolerance - Belt-driven models are quieter than chain-driven motors. If noise is an issue, homeowners should install a belt-driven opener. The LiftMaster Deluxe and Elite series have extra features to keep them quiet. They have a soft start and stop so the opener does not jerk the door, making a lot of noise. These models use DC motors, which are much quieter than AC motors and operate with less vibration. When deciding what opener to install, homeowners must ask themselves the following questions.

Model #81550 uses a basic 1/2hp AC motor with a belt drive. It comes with a 4-year motor and 10-year belt warranty from LiftMaster. The unit comes with one 100-watt light for illumination.
Deluxe Models
Model #83650 uses a deluxe 1/2hp AC motor with a chain drive. LiftMaster offers a lifetime motor warranty on this model. It comes with two 100-watt light bulbs for illumination.
Model #84505R uses a deluxe DC motor with a belt drive. The model includes a built-in camera with 2-way communication. Its two LED lights are rated at 1500 lumens. LiftMaster offers a lifetime motor and belt warranty for this model.
Elite Models
Model #87504 is an elite DC motor with a belt drive. It comes with a battery backup and a camera with 2-way communication.
